Very easy to use and to customize photos. Very easy to use without a lot of start-up studying or instruction. July 21, 2010
Love it Compact and easy to use... we get great pictures and videos of our grandchildren and pet cat...love it! definitely would recommend it to anyone... July 21, 2010
Very slippery and good possibility of slipping Only problem I am having is the camera is so slim and smooth, that there is always a possibility of slipping out of my hands. You MUST use the strap that comes with the camera to avoid slippage. July 21, 2010
Only had the camera for a week find it easy to use and under stand how it works and takes good quality pictures. July 21, 2010
Compact Quality This is a great little camera. It shoots high quality, beautiful pictures. Has plenty of scene, lighting, and image settings for that perfect photo. The camcorder mode is high quality as well. Included panoramic stitching software is a cool bonus. Overall, I am very pleased with this camera. July 21, 2010
Wide-angle lens starting at 27mm is fascinating This cute but elegant little camera has big impact with it's wide-angle lens starting at 27mm. It's a relieve after seeing much of 35mm or so lens in many cameras. It's a safe and sound journey to use ISO only from the lowest one to 400. Just use ISO 800 and up only if the plan is to see the result in computer for web purposes or print in 4 x 6 inch size. Nikons usually shine in macrophotography department, and this little camera too, but it can be achieved with big passion and time to get used to, thanks to it's rather weak autofocus system. In low light situations, this camera does as any other point and shoot cameras do. So, it's understandable. For family or friends events, it is a good advice that we should try to avoid using flash in the first shots. In that way, we will get more natural color photos with enough surrounding details. But, that requires steady two hands hold the camera, no matter what. Minitripod will do some valuable help, too, in this situation. After all, please remember that you are about to take photos with point and shoot camera with enjoyable limitations, not an SLR camera with tons of capabilities. Smile! July 21, 2010
great I got my camera and it is the best and I will always stick to nikon for they are the best camera out there. I say this for this is the only camera I would buy. They are just the best to get photos. July 20, 2010
This product has great features. What I love about it: -size. small enough to fit in my purse. -weight. minimal weight, easy to handle. -easy to learn to use multiple features. -price. not too pricey. -access to download in computer. -brand name quality. July 20, 2010
Issue after issue I purchased this camera based on the Nikon name. One week after the purchase, I went on a vacation. The camera would not charge, but the battery was good. Of course, the authorized dealer in the area did not have a cord or a charger because the camera was too new. I went on my "dream" vacation last month. I had purchased a universal charger ($30) and it worked fine. On day 3 of my 19-day vacation, the battery quit charging. I love the camera, but I may have purchased it before all the bugs were worked out. July 20, 2010
Great for starters The Nikon S3000 is really good for starters that just like to take pictures of anything. It has really great quality 12 megapixels.(wow) The only hard thing is how to use the panorama feature but the rest really great. i recmmend nikon and everything they have. July 20, 2010
Excellent value... I bought the 3000 a couple of days ago and so far am very impressed. For the money, the camera is loaded with impressive features. I am especially happy with how easy it is to navigate the menu's and the various shooting modes actually do make a difference in improved picture quality. The shooter can select his own mode or allow the camera to make the selection based upon shooting conditions. Picture quality is excellent. All this in a convenient , compact package makes this a wise choice. July 20, 2010
Great pictures, great size, overall a good camera. The size is nice, it allows us to carry it anywhere. The picture quality is great. The video is poor at best. This is the only complaint I have about the camera. The quality is low and the video lacks stabilization. If you are looking for great pictures and a nice compact size, this is a great camera. If video quality is something you desire, I would not reccomend this camera. July 20, 2010
This camera is easy to use and has so many options. It's small and compact ane can fit in pocket or purse. July 20, 2010
Amazed at memory card capacity Highly impressed by first pictures. Excellant color saturation and colors very true to scenes photographed. Ease of downloading to computer and simplicity of hook up to both computer and charger show much planning. Very pleased July 20, 2010
Love the size I had a Nikon before, but like this one even better. The Nikon S3000 is slim enough to put into your pocket to take anywhere. It is user friendly with settings and takes great pictures July 20, 2010
Handy Camera I bought this so that my daughter to take pictures during her last days at middle school. It was great for capturing her memories in still photo and video. July 20, 2010
excellent value camera is solid, features excellent and quality of pictures outstanding. July 20, 2010
compack easy to use brite screen compact sharp photos tele & wide angle could be longer & wider. July 20, 2010
Decent camera Good user interface. Small and light. Indoor pictures are mediocre, but outdoor pictures are quite good and rival the Canon SD1200IS. For what I paid, I have no major complaints. July 20, 2010
Better than the original I have the original Nikon Coolpix camera and it takes amazing pictures. I love that camera more than anything and the only reason I replaced it was because I dropped it enough times that the casing was coming apart, totally my fault. This camera takes even better photos and is really simple to use. It has all the settings I love from the original and some new ones that are fun and interesting. I would recommend this camera to anyone who asked. July 20, 2010
I am enjoying the camera and am very pleased with the quality of the pictures. I have had friends ask me when i send them pics via email what kind of camera do you have, the pics are so sharp and clear, excellet quality July 20, 2010
This product is fabulous!!!! When on vacation to CA, I brought my S3000. The zoom on it is amazing for a point and shoot!!!! I would recommend this camera to anybody that asked!!!! July 20, 2010
Ok, easy to use. travels well my first digital camera, works great, great battery life. a good choice July 20, 2010
Nikon S3000 I had the camera long enough to charge the battery and take 6 practice pictures. (12 hrs.) It started malfunctioning (screen said "lense error"). The only way to get rid of that message was to remove the battery. It would malfunction again, and again. I packed it back in the box and took it back to the store and purchased the next better Nikon. So far no problems with it. July 20, 2010
Very good camera Very good camera. Always like Nikon. Good design. Good pictures.. Great product July 20, 2010
Great camera Love this camera. Its small and easy to cary in your pocket. Pictures are clear and true to life. Camera has tons of features. Have a large SLR type camera and this has everything it does except for the large zoom. Take this camera everywhere because of it's size and quality. July 20, 2010
Good I would be able to use it so much better if i had a manual that I could hold in my hand. The CD is absolutely useless to an 89 year old woman who needs to sit at a table with it in front of her and the camera in hand. July 20, 2010
great product with a nikon name takes beautiful pics excellent price point, shutter speed wish was quicker, but otherwise great product July 20, 2010
decent little camera I like this camera, the small, compact size is a definite plus. It slides easily into a pocket. I am not, however used to Nikon or a point and shoot camera as I normally use a large DSLR. It did have more of a learning curve than I expected. It takes pretty nice shots overall, and I know as I use it more, I will like it more. So far, so good. July 20, 2010

I bought a Coolpix S3000 today and see on the box the system requirements for a Mac are OS X 10.4.11, 10.5.8 and 10.6.x. I have a new Mac Book Pro with OS X 10.6.7. Will I be able to load photos from this camera onto my mac?

Answer:
I've had that a lot too! what I found out is you kind of....mess around with the charger, the battery, and the outlet. Like, unplug it, take the battery out,, plug it back in, unplug the little box-thing (that holds the battery) from the cord that goes into the outlet, etc. Just keep messing with it until it is blinking normally.
Good Luck!

Answer:
If the light is flickering (not blinking slowly) it means that the ambient temperature is not suited to charging or the USB cable or Charging AC Adapter is not properly connected, or there's a problem with the battery. Disconnect the USB cable or unplug the Charging AC Adapter and correctly connect it again, or charge the battery.

Answer:
First, make sure you are charging by plugging your USB into a converter in the wall rather than using your computer.

Second, this camera/battery combination has a known error that needs to be fixed. When the Rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL10 was inserted in the camera and charged, charging sometimes did not stop after the designated amount of time had passed. The firmware needs to be updated by downloading to your computer, installing on your camera, and replacing your battery. See http://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/16873

I have the coolpix s3000. I've had it for a year and only used it a few times. I first started noticing problems when a fully charged battery said "Battery exhausted" and wouldnt charge at all. I then bought a new battery, and now my camera will not come on AT ALL. It seems the lens MAY be stuck,or it may actually be a battery problem. I'd plug my camera into the computer and the wall and the LED light would blink green slowly 3 times then blink rapidly and stop completely. I haven't even used the camera 10 times and it's no longer working. HELP ME!

Answer:
I have an S3000 that has gone through three batteries and after just a few uses would give me the message "Battery Exhausted." According to Nikon, when the eRechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL10 is inserted in the camera and charged, charging sometimes did not stop after the designated amount of time had passed.

Updated firmware needs to be downloaded and installed to your camera, and install a NEW battery. http://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/16873

If the light is flickering (very fast) it may be that the ambient temperature is not suited for charging or the USB cable or Charging AC adapter is not properly connected, or there is a problem with the battery. Disconnect the USB cable or unplug the Charging AC adapter and correctly connect it again, or try a back up battery.
