Very poor product This is the second time am buying Nikon products and l am very disappointed with it. I am now stocked with two different cameras that is not working due to lens not coming out and sincerely frustrated about it. Especially when you call the customer service and they give you the run around. I will never buy Nikon products again nor will l recommend it. May 7, 2014
Still works years later.. I first bought the camera along with 2 others the same (as Christmas gifts) in December of 2011. I took mine along with me for the first few months of owning it through military training ventures and captured some great pictures both on and off duty. After returning home around 8 months later, I stored it away and hadn't touched it again until last week (December 2013). The battery had drained of course but a simple recharge and it was good to go again. Snapped a few pics and videos and it works just as good as day 1. Unfortunately for the two I had purchased for others as Christmas gifts along with my own.. Those did not last long at all. Most due to owner misuse and neglect. It's been a good camera for the price. January 3, 2014
Bad Camera Decision I purchased this camera due to its size. Within the first few weeks it stopped working and I had to send it to Nikon for repairs. When it was returned, the camera started putting spots on the pictures. It looked like a dirty lens, but was not. I returned it to Nikon and it was fixed!!! But that only lasted a few months and the spots returned. I figured it was not worth returning. Hopefully this series of camera has been discontinued. September 10, 2013
Still love it! Bought mine back in August 2010 and loved it then & still love it now. This is the first Nikon I have owned and will eventually get a new one. It still takes amazing pictures for me! Back when I bought mine, my niece loved it, so I got her one for Christmas that year. As far as my battery goes, I still have the original battery in mine! With proper care it has lasted a very long time, and yes I do take tons of photos & videos! Plus I use either a 4 or 8 gb memory cards in mine! Would I get another Coolpix camera in the future? Yes, I would! June 15, 2013
LOVED it Bought this camera about two years ago, for a trip in the states, this camera worked amazing. The battery didn't take long to charge, and it lasted for days with a full charge! Pulled it out today as it has been sitting in a box for about 4 months and the battery was still charged! Images were clear and I always got compliments about the pictures that were taken with this camera! A GREAT investment! -- Attached are photos that were taken with the camera! January 23, 2013

I have sent in my camera 3 times and the last time I sent it in with the battery, cord and charger and it was returned saying there were no problems with it. Please tell me what could be going wrong because I am very sick of not having a camera and missing out on parts of my life being captured. I have another (much nicer) camera from Nikon and it works well but for being a point and shoot I am very disappointed with this.

Please try it with a backup battery. Then verify that you have the correct option selected for the Charge by computer, MENU > SETUP MENU > Charge by Computer. If the problem persists you will need to send the camera and the charger to be evaluated.

Answer:
If the light is flickering (not blinking slowly) it means that the ambient temperature is not suited to charging or the USB cable or Charging AC Adapter is not properly connected, or there's a problem with the battery. Disconnect the USB cable or try a different one.

Answer:
The S3000 has automatic exposure control and does not allow for manual control of the shutter speed. With the exception of the Fireworks scene mode which has a 4 second exposure, the shutter speed is automatically chosen from a range of 1/2000 second to 1 second.

The following COOLPIX cameras have manual exposure control:
P310 - Longest shutter speed 4 seconds
P510 - Longest shutter speed 60 seconds
P7100 - Longest shutter speed 60 seconds
P7700 - Longest shutter speed 60 seconds

All Nikon DSLRs and Nikon1 cameras allow you to adjust your shutter speed and support long exposures.

Answer:
It is the charge lamp. A green light should blink slowly if the battery is charging with the EH-68P charger, or if charge by computer is set to Auto in the camera setup menu, and you have the USB cable plug into the computer.
You can try evaluating the problem to find out if it is the charger, battery, or the camera thats not working properly.
An an authorized dealer such as Costco, or where you purchase the camera from should be able to evaluate the issue. You can also contact Nikon technical support. See the service and support tab on our website.

Answer:
When connecting the COOLPIX S3000, the camera must be connected to the TV with the supplied AV cable. Connect the yellow plug to the video-in jack and the white plug to the audio-in jack on the TV. When connecting the audio/video cable, be sure that the camera connector is properly oriented. Do not use force when connecting the audio/video cable to the camera. When disconnecting the audio/video cable, do not pull the connector at an angle. Tune the television to the video channel. Hold down the playback button to turn on the camera. The camera enters playback mode and pictures are displayed on the television. While connected to the TV, the camera monitor will remain off.
