EXCELLENT customer service for my Coolpix S220 I previously wrote a scathing review of disappointment with the reliability of the camera and subsequently mailed my camera to Nikon for them to keep and use for spare parts or whatever they could. I didn't want to throw it in the trash can but I didn't want to see it lying around my house, either. Admittedly, I was pretty fired up because within two months after buying the camera, I was the designated photographer for an event and the evening photos ended up undiscernable. Then a lens error kept the camera from even turning on to function. I was livid. I don't see my review here (from Apr or May 2012# or I'd try to append it. #so, where is that review ...?# Why the five stars above? Within two weeks after saying BON VOYAGE to my camera at the post office, Nikon repaired it and returned it to me #with a battery, as I had sent mine in empty), absolutely free of charge. I was blown away. It takes great pictures, like I always expected a Nikon to do, but I have to pass along public kudos to the Customer Service Dept. I will also write a letter of thanks. I didn't expect to receive even acknowledgment that my camera had arrived or that I was an unhappy customer, so this response was so refreshing. Thank you, Nikon, for the wonderful surprise. After I informed you of the issue I had, without requesting anything in return, you fixed the problem -- literally -- and I sincerely appreciate it. Way to go. Nikon s220 I find this little camera worth it's price having many cameras in my life time, petri, Pentax, canon And using others camera . I am currently looking into the Nikon d7100 camera. My Nikon s220. Didn't have any of the fore mention problems. I might suggest looking into settings for those who have Grainy pictures and get a good sd card. I was amazed at what picture I have taken with this camera For those who think it is junk camera then do research and try other camera as for me it will be Nikon Invest in a good camera and make it a hobby. I highly recommend this camera for beginners April 22, 2012
best camera ever! i got this camera two years ago. it was the best i love it so much it took great pictures at the beach or out camping. i am looking for a new one because i dropped mine and the lens went crooked and we arnt able to fix it great camera i love it November 16, 2011
AWESOME i gave this to my ten year old daughter for her birthday cause it was the one she picked out. She dropped it many times and all it did was give it a scratch. it took a nice quality pictures and videos. i would recomend this for anyone April 30, 2011

My screen is black and takes black pictures. I can still look at old pictures that are saved to the device and see how much battery power etc, but it will not take pictures of anything but blackness. Is it taking pictures of a different dimension? :P What do I do to fix it?

If you’re only able to see previous pictures and the screen stays blank when trying to take new ones, you will need to send your camera for evaluation.

Have you ever dropped it? You may have jarred the image sensor. Take it to a camera repair shop or ship it to Nikon.

When I turn on my camera my view screen is blank (or you might call it white). The camera still takes pictures but I can't view what I'm aiming at or see any menus. Both of my batteries are fully charged.

When I take a picture on my Coolpix s220, the image shows lines across it (line of picture, black line, line of picture, black line, repeating). What could have caused this and how do I fix it? The included picture shows a mild version of the problem.
