Love this camera I recently bought this camera and I think it is amazing. The pictures are sharp and the colors are great! Also It takes great macro photos. Just one this I personally think this camera is more powerful but some features are not programmed so it does not compete with higher end products September 8, 2011
AMAZING Product This is a very user-friendly camera with amazing photo quality and features. The price was unbeatable for the amount of megapixels and features available with the camera. I have had a fujifilm camera for a few years now and when I placed the cameras side by side for the same pictures the results spoke for themselves Nikon is the best out there and I will never go back! GREAT CAMERA!!! THIS IS THE BEST PURCHASE I HAVE MADE!! October 23, 2010

Hello and thanks for help. The on-line manual (I downloaded) just shows what the battery level "icons" (i.e. low charge, full charge) look like when displayed on the screen....however, no battery icons are displaying on the screen.
1) How do I, manually, check the battery level when I turn on the camera?
2) Also, how do I set camera to always show the battery level charge on-screen?
I've gone to settings and menu and can't find either option anywhere so I have no idea what charge the battery is at. If you can please explain in easy-to-understand steps I appreciate your efforts as this is my first camera that has 'advanced' options.

Answer:
No icon means he battery is full, icon won't show until he battery is low. No way of altering it and no other way of checking he battery.
I would buy a spare battery.
