Great every day lens. This lens has the range for most regular shooting. Some pincushioning but good colors, sharpness, and a nice bokeh. April 16, 2011
Good old standby Sharp focus, good detail, and low distortion have made this my everyday lens for year. I've had this lens for 4 years and have never really had a problem with it. April 15, 2011
Great lens unfortunately discontinued My husband bought me a D40 for Christmas a couple of years ago and he was very insistent about having spent fair amount extra to upgrade from the standard 18-55mm lens, which he said "the less I say the better." The only flaw in my 18-135mm lens is that it doesn't have Vibration Reduction. We hoped that a VR version would be introduced, but the VR replacement is only 18-105mm, and I really like having the extra reach of the 135mm. This was the perfect lens for somebody who couldn't quite justify spending double for the wonderful 18-200mm, though maybe my hubby will hand his down to me? I LOVE MY NIKON! April 14, 2011
Bang for the Buck I chose this lens because I am a poor individual who can't afford a bag full of lenses. I have it on a D80. This lens has been perfect for close and long shots without having to keep changing lens, which I cannot afford anyway. Its has met all my needs and wants. I recommend it for the money challenged photographer who shoots a wide range of subjects. April 14, 2011
Versatile Lens As an amateur/hobbyist photographer I've found this lens to be the perfect option for me. I have used it for over two years with my Nikon D80 and have never been inclined to purchase another. It's range is great for various situations and it let's me work on the fly without having to stop and switch lenses periodically or carry others around with me. I recommend it for anyone looking to get a nice camera for fun or casual shooting who doesn't want to break the bank on a different lens for every situation. April 14, 2011

Answer:
Yes, you can use that lens but it will change the MP of the camera and the lens will also be 1.5 focal factor as with the D80. Using that lens changes the D700 to a 1.5 focal factor. It also changes from 12.1 to 5 MP approximately. The photos will still be excellent but you need to make sure that's what you want from the D700. You would be better off getting the 24-120 f/4 or the 28-300 f/3.5-5.6. Both excellent lenses but I think the 24-120 is better because of it's fixed f.

Answer:
Yes, you can use this lens with your camera. Just keep in mind the D700 is a FX (Full Frame) and the lens is DX.

Answer:
Hi Sonny,

I purchased that lens as part of a kit and did experience some problems with it;s durability. You may have a different experience but heavy use cause problems for me.

It does have excellent class and I am pleases with the quality of the results.

Answer:
You need the LC-67, or a 67mm lens cap of third party origins.
