Mark Alberhasky's big tip is "Look in the viewfinder not through it." When you look through the viewfinder, and you're emotionally connecting with your subject, you may miss seeing what is in the viewfinder. By looking in the viewfinder, you look at everything in the frame, and that's when you'll better compose your photographs.
