Wow! Simply Perpect
Excellent filter for my AF-S DX 18-55 VR Lens.
The build quality is very good. Thanks to its
multi-coated glass which reduces flare.

Its not necessary at all, most of the time they are used for protection of the front element. They shouldnt effect the image at all as long as you use a clear glass type filter.

Answer:
The best way to clean a filter is to use a piece of lint free lens cleaning tissue and a small amount of Lens Cleaning solution. Do not use anything containing abrasives or solvents, only use Lens Cleaning Solution.1 of 1
