On August 3-6, 2009, the Long Island Photo Workshop, a PPA Affiliate school, will be celebrating its 31st year as a premier center of education for professional and aspiring professional photographers. Each year, talented instructors and eager students from all over the world come to Long Island for a week of intense education, camaraderie and fun. Over the years the workshop has received many accolades from instructors and students alike.
The classes are hands-on sessions and are limited in number to give our students the maximum learning experience. Renowned Nikon photographers and educators, including Jay Maisel, Kevin Kubota, Dave Black and Vincent Versace have provided thousands of students with an unforgettable educational experience.
With subjects ranging from traditional photography to digital photography and image manipulation to artistry and painting, there’s something here for everyone. This year’s list of classes includes:
Dave Black – Light Is the Greatest Influence (Natural light digital photography)
Gary Small – Professional Photoshop CS4 from the Beginning
Vincent Versace – Return to Oz – Seeing is believing. A Cinematic Approach to Digital Still Photography
The workshop will be held at the beautiful Sheraton Long Island Hotel in Smithtown, NY. Tuition includes a welcome breakfast on the first day, lunch every day, a trade show with some of the top vendors in the industry, a sumptuous gourmet graduation banquet, workshop t-shirt, class photo, two PPA merits, diploma—and four memorable, fun-filled days of photography.
