Nikon pioneered the design and manufacture of aspherical lenses―which minimize optical aberrations while allowing for lighter, smaller optics―and developed ED (extra-low dispersion) glass, which ensures superior sharpness and maximum color correction.
Nikon breakthroughs in microcomputer technology provide for complete integration of NIKKOR lenses into all Nikon imaging systems.
